I led a team from Freedom International Church to Tanzania – Larry and Kay Peebles, Ken Looi, Phil Hinton and Chris Guertin. Our hostess was Pastor Rita Langeland, founder and president of Treasures of Africa Children’s Home (www.TreasuresOfAfrica.org) and Hidden with Christ Ministries (www.HiddenWithChrist.com).

The first part of our trip we served at the TOA Children’s Home in the town of Moshi. Every person brought a great skill set. As an RN, Ken helped with the children’s medical needs. Phil worked on all the computers. Chris (a.k.a. MacGyver) was the mechanic and small engine repair man. Larry was contractor extraordinaire. Kay and I painted everything in sight. And best of all we had time to play and love on all the precious children. That made all the trunks full of gifts (from Freedom International Church) that we brought for the orphanage even more meaningful. We also had the privilege of ministering to the TOA staff and a couple of churches in the area.

The second part of our trip we traveled to Mto Wa Mbu in Maasai land. There we had the privilege of participating in some food distribution and ministering in the church that Hidden with Christ has planted under the leadership of Pastor Zablon Laizer.

Pastor Rita and her staff at TOA – Lydia, Jodie, Eli and Brandon – are doing an amazing job. The quality of care and ministry to the children is outstanding and they are doing everything with the utmost excellence.
